I attended the Brunswick-Waterville hockey game at the Colisee recently. I would like to commend and applaud the two young ladies who sang the National Anthem before the game. It was one of the most beautiful and inspirational renditions I have ever heard.

Usually I cringe and am disgusted at the manner so-called professional entertainers ruin the significance of the occasion with their personal signatures in singing the National Anthem before televised sporting events. The two young ladies had perfect timing and harmony, and it was a pleasure to hear the anthem performed the way it should be, with respect and dignity.

The rest of the country could take a lesson from Lewiston, Maine. The community should be proud of those young women.
