Congratulations to Sun Journal editors, staff photographers and columnists on a job well done.

I am a Canadian freelance writer who had the occasion to visit the Sun Journal office a couple years ago. I was met by pleasant, informed staff who directed me to the editor who might consider a story I was writing. I was impressed by the atmosphere of efficiency and well-being of the staff.

Thus, it came as no great surprise when a recent Toronto Star heralded the discovery that the Sun Journal was awarded 22 prizes for outstanding achievement in the Society for News Design design and photography competition.

To borrow a little thunder from the Star, in reference to the Sun Journal, it is gratifying to know that the Sun Journal shines not only in Maine, “but on the world stage.”
