PORTLAND (AP) – Frederic Cassivi made 27 saves and became the first American Hockey League goalie to win 30 games this season as the Hershey Bears beat the Portland Pirates 4-1 on Saturday night
Colin Forbes scored a goal and added an assist to help Hershey snap Portland’s three-game winning streak.
The Bears (38-17-3-9) led the entire game. Joey Tenute scored 2:30 into the first period, and Boyd Kane stretched the lead to 2-0 at 17:13 in the second.
The Pirates (40-16-5-3) cut the deficit to 2-1 when Dustin Penner connected on the power play at 18:30 of the second.
Then Forbes scored with 43 seconds remaining in the middle period. Dave Steckel iced the game with a goal at 10:44 in the third.
Portland goalie Jani Hurme made 20 saves in the loss.
