I agree with the article, “Good sign of the times for shoppers” regarding L.L. Bean (Feb. 14).
L.L. Bean was a big hit to the Lewiston-Auburn community; it is too bad that it was a temporary thing. The city doesn’t have very many stores at the Lewiston or Auburn malls and, for L.L. Bean to come into the city, I think is a big deal.
I am surprised L.L. Bean was such a big hit. Usually, when businesses shut down, the next business that opens in the space doesn’t do well, either. L.L. Bean proved different.
I also think that the stores and businesses that are entering Lewiston-Auburn will be successful because people will not have to drive 30 to 40 minutes to get to these places; they will be located closer to them. I believe that with these places coming here it will also create more job opportunities and even bring up the economy.
