AUBURN – The wedding of Marie Theresa St. Amand and James Otis Nelson was held at 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 27 at the High Street Congregational Church. Pastor John Ellis officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Nelson is the daughter of Norman St. Amand of Sabattus and Lorraine Pepin of Lewiston. Mr. Nelson is the son of Otis Herbert Nelson and Lucille Faye Nelson, both of Auburn.

Since the bride’s father could not be present at the wedding, Laurier Pepin, stepfather, escorted the bride to the alter. She wore a princess style white gown with spaghetti straps and fitted bodice. She carried a bouquet of pink, white and other colored flowers made by Lisa Forgues.

Lorraine Pepin was matron of honor for her daughter, and Brittany Lavoie, daughter, was flower girl.

Jeff Vannah, friend, performed the duties of best man.

A reception followed at the church, where centerpieces and vases were made by Amber Peterson. The couple traveled to Massachusetts at Six Flags at the Hampton Inn. They are residing in Lewiston.

The bride is a graduate of Oak Hill High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She has been employed eight years at Hannaford as a service clerk.

The bridegroom received his GED and also attended Oxford Hills Technical School. He has been employed as a truck driver for Coca Cola since 1999.
