LISBON – Scott D’Amboise has announced his intention to file for the Republican nomination to represent Maine’s 2nd District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

D’Amboise is a former selectman in Lisbon.

“We need to bring jobs back to Maine and America,” he said in a prepared statement. “There needs to be tax reform and stronger national security. Immigration laws need to be strengthened and enforced with greater consistency.

“We face significant challenges – both as a state and a nation – and we need serious people in Washington who are prepared to create workable solutions. It’s time we expect more out of our representatives.”

For the past 15 years, D’Amboise has worked in the medical field as an eye technician.

Prior to that, he worked in the Brewer school system as a teacher’s assistant in the special education program.

He coaches farm league baseball and has been involved with Boy Scouts of America for the past 15 years.

D’Amboise grew up in Carmel in Penobscot County. His wife, Debbie, is from Bangor. He is a graduate of Hermon High School and attended the University of Maine at Orono.

“Scott D’Amboise’s experience in the medical and education fields will serve the people of Maine well in Congress,” said Maine Republican Party Chairman Mark Ellis. “As a father, D’Amboise understands the tough issues Maine families face. Mainers are concerned about high taxes, the loss of good-paying jobs in our state and the security of the nation.”
