WINTHROP – Alanna A. Dick has been chosen for the 2006 Maine Principal’s Association Principal’s Award at Winthrop High School. She is the daughter of David and Rebecca Dick.

During her four years at Winthrop High School, Dick has distinguished herself as an outstanding student and athlete. Activities include co-president of the Student Council, vice president of the French Club and a member of the National Honors Society. She is captain of the girls tennis team and a member of the girls soccer team.

As Student Council president, Dick was a key figure in the “Make a Difference Day,” when food was collected for the local food bank.

Dick plans to attend a four-year private college majoring in English, then possibly graduate school concentrating in journalism and communications. She said her ambition is “to travel the world and experience success in my career; whatever that may turn out to be.”
