Lewiston – George W. Turner, 71, of Sabattus passed away peacefully after a short illness Sunday, March 12, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Lewiston on May 24, 1934, the son of Walter and Fleicen (Roberge) Turner. He attended Lewiston grammar schools and later Lewiston High School.

In May of 1975 he married Theresa Goyette. She died in 1980.

He was a self-employed truck driver retiring in 1996, and later worked part-time for Pat Cyr trucking.

He was an avid motorcyclist.

He is survived by his brother, Carl Turner and wife, Dorothy, of Sabattus; three nephews, David and Billy Turner, and Gerald Burgess; three nieces, Laurie, Kelly, and Hope Burgess.

He was predeceased by his parents; and a nephew, Ronnie Turner.
