LEWISTON – The Blessed Margaret of Castello Dominican Chapter of Lewiston is looking for people who feel they have a calling to evangelize as Catholics and are willing to explore the possibility of becoming involved in an extensive program.

This program would lead to entering the Order of Preachers and, in time, a lifelong profession as third-order laypersons, married or single.

The first step of the program is a six- to 12-month postulancy program, in which people attend chapter meetings and become involved in apostolic programs offered by the chapter. This year, the postulancy program will run from May to October, at which time the decision is made whether or not to profess temporary promises and become a novice in the order.

The chapter meets on the third Saturday of the month. Regular meetings are from 9 a.m. to noon. The postulancy formation sessions will be held at a time suitable to all those involved.

The local chapter is involved in scheduling and offering the “Called and Gifted” program, in which participants are challenged to discover their God-given gifts and put them to use in evangelizing those around them.

Monthly meetings also explore personal scriptural and religious studies, and members are working on developing a retreat about “Finding God’s Will” based on Scripture selections.
