AUBURN – The Sisters of Charity will host the seventh annual Angel Ball on Saturday, March 25, at the Martindale Country Club.

The 2005 ball raised more than $30,000 for the Good Shepherd Food Pantry, since renamed the Sisters of Charity Food Pantry.

This year’s Angel Ball will benefit the implementation of VISICU eICU at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. VISICU eICU is a newly developed critical care monitoring system that will help doctors and nurses improve care, save lives and lower costs in the Intensive Care Unit.

It will give the most highly trained ICU specialists in the state the opportunity to observe and assist in the treatment of patients in the ICU while monitoring the progress from the remote site of MaineHealth VitalNetwork.

The St. Mary’s Commit to Care ICU Renovation Campaign began in 2002 and will be complete with the addition of the VISICU eICU system.

A social hour will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $80 a person or $100 for Patrons of the Ball. A corporate table of 10 is $1,000. People may make a donation, buy 50/50 raffle tickets for $20 each or donate an auction item.
