AUBURN – The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer a two-part workshop on “Business Writing” from 1 to 4 p.m. Mondays, April 3 and 10.

Facilitated by Rita Pare, this workshop will focus on the development of business correspondence, including letters, memos and resumes. The importance of tone, format and etiquette will be stressed.

In addition, the workshop will offer suggestions on writing concisely in an effort to have the message accurately interpreted.

Pare is an instructor at Central Maine Community College and teaches a number of communications courses.

“We are pleased to offer this important workshop because, in our professional lives, there is a need for effective written communication skills,” said Jim Handy, corporate training coordinator. “It is essential to understand that writing for a business context or audience is different from that of other writing.”
