LEWISTON -The top 4 seeded teams were victorious in opening matches Wednesday night as the playoffs began in the B-1 Division of the Multi-Purpose Center Volleyball League.

Carquest (1) beat GE (8), 21-15, 21-17; Downeast Pension Services (4) turned back Margarita’s (5), 21-14, 21-12; South of The Border (3) trimmed Legends (6), 21-9, 21-19; and D.E. Strout CPA (2) defeated Jordan Keller (7), 21-18, 17-21, 21-16.

Then came two upsets. GE (8) ousted Margarita’s (5), 21-12, 21-16; and Jordan Keller (7) eliminated Legends (6), 21-17, 21-17.

Playoffs will continue Wednesday, March 22, as follows: 6:15, Carquest vs Downeast Pension; D.E. Strout vs South of Border; 7:15, GE vs Loser Strout-Border; Jordan Keller vs Loser Carquest-Downeast; 8:15, Winner Carquest-Downeast vs Winner Strout-Border; Winners of 7:15 games.
