LEWISTON – Gary A. Bellegarde has been promoted to an assistant vice president in the TD Banknorth Maine branch at 790 Lisbon St. in Lewiston. As the business development and sales manager, he will continue to manage the 11-person staff, generate small business loans and handle residential mortgages, consumer loans and deposit accounts for customers in the Lewiston region.

Bellegarde joined TD Banknorth in 2004 and has more than 10 years of combined experience in banking, mortgage and finance. He previously served as branch manager of another large banking company. Bellegarde is a member of the Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce.

Bellegarde, who resides in Turner with his wife, Gretchen, and their daughter, Eliza, is a volunteer coordinator for the United Way of Androscoggin County and participates in various fundraising activities for TD Banknorth.

He is a 1994 graduate of the University of Maine in Portland. An Auburn native, Bellegarde is a 1989 graduate of Edward Little High School.
