AUBURN – Gloria M. Girouard, 75, of 6 Hillmount Drive, Lewiston, died Saturday, March 18, at the Hospice House in Auburn with her family and friends by her side following a short illness.

She was born in Bangor on Aug. 1, 1930, the daughter of Kenneth and Edith (Philbrook) Kilby. She was a resident of this community for most of her life.

She attended Bangor schools and was a 1948 graduate of Bangor High School.

She was married for 49 years to Donald R. Girouard, whom she married on Feb. 12, 1949. He died on Nov. 11, 1998.

She had worked in concession stands at Maine Raceways, and was most recently employed at Dube’s Flower Shop.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and Queen Ann’s Sodality.

Gloria was a dedicated mother and housewife. She had a great love for her family, friends and especially her dog, Suzette.

She is survived by her mother, Edith MacDonald, of Lewiston; two sons, Daniel Girouard of Lewiston, and William Girouard of Holden; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one brother, William Kilby, of Bangor.
