LEWISTON – Marie Jeanne Alma Landry, 95, of 27 Ferry Road, and formerly of 20 Great Falls Plaza, Auburn, died Wednesday, March 15, at home with her family.

Born June 27, 1910, in St. Ignace, New Brunswick, Canada, she was the daughter of Isaie Johnson and Claire Richard. She married the love of her life, Daniel Landry, on Nov. 27, 1939, in Saint John, New Brunswick. He died Sept. 20, 1962.

She lived in St. Louis, Milltown and Saint John, New Brunswick, before moving to Lewiston in 1956. She received her degree in cosmetology from the Leinster Academy of Beauty in 1937 and owned and operated the Piccadilly Beauty Parlor in Saint John with her husband and sister, Emily Johnson.

She worked at St. Mary’s General Hospital in the sewing and linen rooms, the Holiday Inn, Auburn, as an assistant housekeeper, and Geiger Brothers in the bookbinding department.

She enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Lucien LePage of Lewiston; one grandson and his wife, Douglas and Kathleen LePage of Lewiston; one granddaughter and her husband, Pamela and Peter Greb of Chicago, Ill.; her “sweetheart” great-grandsons, Travis LePage of Lewiston, Alexander Greb and Nikolaus Greb of Chicago, and Michael Sasseville of Lewiston; her “sweetdoll” great-granddaughter, Amanda Sasseville of Lewiston; her “special daughter,” Claudette Caron of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews.

She had two special angel caregivers, Joyce Moreau and Lucille Pelletier.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Julia Johnson, Emily Johnson and Susan Bonnevie; and brothers, Gerard Johnson, Edmond Johnson and Isaie “Joe” Johnson.
