SOUTH PORTLAND – C.N. Brown’s 15th annual Miracle Ball was held at the Marriott on March 4. The ball has been held for the past 15 years to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The 2006 Miracle Ball raised $65,000.
This year guests were welcomed aboard the SS Miracle Maker to take a cruise aboard a luxury liner from the early 1900s. Picture an evening aboard a ship somewhat like the “Titanic” in its elegance and prestige.
The first class passengers were served a quite and elegant dinner in the formal “dining salon” until the third class passengers came up from “steerage” to kick off dancing for the evening.
Emcees were WGME 13’s Kim Block and Doug Rafferty. A silent auction rounded off the evening. Manhattan Nine provided the music.
