FARMINGTON – SAD 9 directors are scheduled to meet each Tuesday for several weeks to continue reviewing a proposed $23.4 million budget for 2006-07.

Directors have had two presentations so far and will be meeting again next week following a 5:30 p.m. student disciplinary hearing, Tuesday, March 28, at Mt. Blue High School, SAD 9 Superintendent Mike Cormier said Wednesday.

Directors reviewed several accounts over the last two weeks and are scheduled to hear presentations on operation/maintenance of plant, transportation, adult education and revenues at their next meeting.

The board also will have a chance to ask questions about the proposed budgets, Cormier said.

Members of the public are welcome to attend these meetings.

The proposed budget reflects an increase of $1.5 million over the existing budget but at the same time the district anticipates receiving more state revenue for education, which will help lower property tax commitments in each of the nine towns.
