What has the United States come to for groups to demonstrate at one of our fallen serviceman’s funeral with no regard for family and friends who are grieving?
My husband is a Vietnam veteran and he is extremely upset over this, as are many other veterans. This brings back all the memories regarding the disregard they suffered on returning to American soil.
It is a terrible sign of the times when a soldier’s funeral is picketed with signs like “Thank God for dead soldiers,” “God hates America, land of the fags.” That is truly sickening, and I am deeply disappointed with these American citizens.
I realize that one of the great aspects of America is freedom of speech, but to demonstrate at a fallen soldier’s funeral is unacceptable and intolerable.
This is America, where tolerance and freedom is the makeup of our nation. We don’t have to agree with everything taking place, but we do have choices, which gives me the freedom to despise what the Westboro Baptist Church plans on doing in Norway.
My sincere condolences go to the family and friends of Sgt. Corey Dan.
