LANGDON, N.H. (AP) – Students who walked out of Fall Mountain Regional High School this week in support of teacher pay raises are being disciplined.

Principal Thomas Ferenc said 106 students bolted at the opening bell on Wednesday; 75 returned to school, but 31 left.

Ferenc said the standard punishment for skipping class is a one-day in-school suspension, though the punishment will be adjusted depending on the students’ circumstances and disciplinary history.

Ferenc said they also are talking with students about protests. The principal said it’s important for students to have a voice, but protests can’t disrupt the school.
