NORWAY – Evelyn Poland Dunn, 77, of Norway, died peacefully, Thursday, March 23, at Norway Rehabilitation Center.

She was born May 19, 1928, in Woodstock, the daughter of Leon L. and Helen (Benson) Poland and graduated from Woodstock High School in 1946.

On Oct. 17, 1950, she married James W. Dunn, who survives her. They spent most of their married life in Falmouth, and Campton, N.H., moving back to Maine a few years ago.

She was a devoted member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and loved music and sang in a trio with her sister, Dorothy Critser and friend, Alberta Harlow at church services and other occasions for many years. She and her husband traveled several times across country to visit with their daughter, Patrice and sister, Dorothy.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James W. Dunn, of Norway; a daughter, Patrice Dunn of Loma Linda, Calif.; a brother, Phelps Poland and his wife, Joan, of West Paris; a sister, Andrea Wing and her husband, Richard, of South Woodstock; sisters-in-law, Claribel Poland and Thomasina Poland, both of South Woodstock, Ada Minyon and her husband, Sam, of Hialeah Gardens, Fla.; and many close cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, James Dunn (twin to sister Patrice); a sister, Dorothy Critser Feb. 28 in Tempe, Ariz.; her parents; brothers, Gerald Poland in World War II in the Battle of the Bulge, Buster Poland, Vernon Poland and a brother, Leon Poland Jr. in Vietnam.
