PHILLIPS – The Phillips Food Pantry, located in the basement of the Methodist Church, will open from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, March 28. After that, it will be open from 9 a.m. to noon on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month.

Those receiving food should bring their own boxes or bags. The pantry is open to residents of Phillips, Avon and Madrid. Proof of residence is needed, and a recent electric bill is suggested.

Food is available to anyone receiving HEAP, Elderly Tax and Rent Refund, Medicaid, AFDC, Food Stamps, TANF or SSI; also, anyone whose income is under 150 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

The Phillips Shared Ministry sponsors the Phillips Food Pantry. Elaine Romanoski and volunteers, including Paul and Marie Bubier, have provided service to the pantry.

Volunteers are needed to truck and unload the food into the pantry, as well as to assist in other ways. Call Madeline Haines, 639-3366, Evelyn Wilbur, 639-4287, or Pat Matulaitis, 639-3786, to volunteer.
