AVON – Two people were arrested and charged with furnishing liquor to underage drinkers as county deputies were investigating another complaint Friday.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department received a complaint of a sexual assault, which Detective David St. Laurent and Deputy Heidi Gould were investigating, when it was discovered that there had been a party on Hare Street in Avon and there were underage drinkers there, sheriff’s Lt. Niles Yeaton said Monday.

Gould arrested Kenneth A. Ridlon Jr., 25, of Avon and Melissa A. Pike, 27, of Phillips, and charged them each with furnishing liquor to minors. Pike was also charged with unlawful furnishing of a scheduled drug, marijuana, Yeaton said.

On Friday, Ridlon posted $250 cash bail and Pike posted $500 cash bail. Both are scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, April 20, in Farmington.
