AUBURN – Barbara Benoit Lagorio, 85, passed away on March 24, after a courageous balltle with cancer at the Hospice House.

She was born Nov. 16, 1920, in Auburn She graduated from Edward Little High School, Class of 1937.

She lived and worked in Boston for more than 30 years, then retired and returned to her native Maine.

She lived in Poland Spring for 15 years before moving back to Auburn.

Her laughter and sense of humor will be missed by many who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her brother, Wilfred Benoit and his wife, Martha; along with three nieces; and one nephew.

She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Lagorio.
