AUBURN – Rec-Ing Crew will be the No. 1 seed as playoffs begin Thursday in the Auburn Rec Women’s Slowdown Basketball League.

The Crew and SOCHS finished in a tie for first with identical 8-2 records. The teams split during the regular season but Crew was given the top seed based on point difference.

The single-elimination playoffs begin Thursday at Hasty Community Center, as follows: 6:15 p.m., Hoop Camp (3) vs Young Ones (6); 7:30, SOCHS (2) vs Independent Women (7); 8:45, Lady Ballers (4) vs Old School (5). Playoffs will continue Sunday with Rec-Ing Crew (1) meeting the 8:45 p.m. winner at 4 p.m., followed by the winners of the first two games at 5:30.

Young Ones 57, Old School 29. Young Ones: Pauline Veinott, 22; Elaine Keene, 11; Maggie Holm, 9. Old School: Heather Noonan, 13; Liz Hartford and Betsy Sibley, 7 each. . . Rec-Ing Crew 47, SOCHS 28. Crew: Lynn Whitney, 11; Jessica Veilleux, Penny Webster, 8 each. SOCHS: Dawn Gilbert, Deana Kane, 6 each; Cathy Marston, Tammy Thibeault, 5 each. . . Lady Ballers 38, Hoop Camp 34 (OT). Ballers; Jen Small, 17; Jen Robitalle, 11. Campers: Katie Morin, 21; Tracy Scott, 5; Kim Clark, 4.
