Despite the spin and misinformation from the Bush administration, Iraq is in the midst of civil war. Sectarian violence is growing and American soldiers are both in the crossfire and the cross hairs. The Iraqi police force is complicit in retribution killing and the Iraqi military seems unable to stand on its own feet to bring the situation under control.
The true cost of the war is now estimated at more than $1 trillion. I remember when the Bush administration fired an economics adviser for saying the war would cost a whopping $100 billion to $200 billion. So, who should we fire now?
The light at the end of the tunnel is not a beacon of peace. It is the flame of hatred and burning money.
It is time to protect American interests and American men and women by getting out of Iraq.
