Church speaker

WEST PARIS – Joe Sirois of Rumford will be the guest speaker at the First Universalist Church of West Paris at 9 a.m. Sunday, April 2. All are welcome. The topic will be “The Iraq War, Peace Activism, Morality.” Sirois has recently attended a workshop that focused on the topic.

Sermon topic

PARIS – Noah Love will present the sermon at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris, at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 2. Love will tell of a life-changing experience. His sermon is titled “The Courage to Care.”

The music will be directed by Forest Perkins, organist, and Charles Cummings, soloist.

Renee Wales will lead the Sunday school. Brunch will follow the service in Good Cheer Hall.

Society program

GREENWOOD – The Greenwood Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, at the society building on Main Street. The program will be on Japanese doll-making, with some dolls made by Yoshiko Davis when she taught for the Kamakura School of Dollmaking in Japan. John Davis will do the program.

Easter festival

NORWAY – Children of all ages are invited to participate in the annual Norway Easter Festival to be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 8. Children will be able to make Easter crafts and have a healthy snack served by Samatha Skunk.

Stories will be read in the library multi-purpose room at 10:30 and 11:30. There will also be an Easter egg hunt on Main Street.

Registration forms to participate in the hunt may be picked up at the library during the festival.

SUMNER – Pastor Michael Johnson announces events for the Congregational Church of East Sumner. Sunday morning worship and Sunday school are at 9 a.m.

April 2, Communion, deacons’ offering.

April 3, choir rehearsal at 6:30 p.m.

April 5, deacons and trustees meet at 6:30 p.m.; council, 7:15.

April 9, Palm Sunday, choir sings, coffee hour.

April 13, Maundy Thursday and Seder Supper, 6 p.m.

April 15, annual Easter egg hunt.

April 16, Easter sunrise service and breakfast, 7 a.m.; Easter service, mission offering.

April 23, Sunday school sings.
