AUBURN – Maria Strout, 80, formerly of Mechanic Falls, died Tuesday, March 28, at the Odd Fellows Home.

She was born in Czechoslovakia on Dec. 26, 1925, the daughter of Karl and Gisela Schmidt Mazurek. She attended school in Czechoslovakia and came to this country after the war. She had been a homemaker.

She married Ralph H. Strout Dec. 8, 1951. He died June 8, 2001. She was always smiling, she loved music and being with her husband.

Survivors include three sons, Ralph of Lewiston and his children, Kimberly and Matthew, Harold and his wife, Shelley, of Monmouth and their daughter, Kara and Armand and his wife, Cheryl, of Mechanic Falls and their son, Oliver; five daughters, Gisela and her husband, Keith Nazaroff, of Minot and their son, Keith Jr. and his wife, Christine, Mary Ann and her husband, Donald Boyd and their son, Scott of Mechanic Falls, Evelyn and her husband, John Sylvester, of Poland and their children, Shaun and Alyson, Frances and her husband, True Ridley, of Hebron and their daughter, Megan and Ann LaChance of Auburn and her children, Erin, Mark and Maria; and two great-grandsons, Michael and Alex Nazaroff.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Melissa Nazaroff.
