BERLIN, N.H. (AP) – Workers at the closing pulp mill were preparing to vote on a severance package offered by mill owners.

A vote on the final offer from Fraser Papers was scheduled for today. The pulp mill is to be closed May 6, but the paper in Gorham will stay open.

Union and company officials have been in talks over the package for about three weeks.

The package encompasses severance pay and outlines bumping rights for workers seeking continued employment.
