Elder Paul Bernard will discuss fliers distributed by the Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas.

LEWISTON – “The Investigation of Hell” will be presented at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 2, at the Good News Chapel, 2151 Lisbon, Road. All are welcome.

Elder Paul Bernard will discuss fliers distributed by the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kan. The controversial group recently threatened to protest at the funeral of a Norway soldier killed in Iraq. It’s congregation believes the U.S. is condemned by God for tolerating homosexuality.

“There is no need for people to be ignorant on the teaching of hell in 2006,” Bernard said in a news release. “We are no longer in the dark ages and with the biblical aids we have on literal translation, exegetical, historical, cultural and linguistic information on the books of the Bible.”

Ministers, he said, have an obligation to study and show themselves approved before God and man teaching the truth of God’s word. “It is time for an investigation on hell,” he said.
