LISBON FALLS – Kenneth J. Healey, principal of Lisbon High School, has announced that Melinda Sullivan of Lisbon Falls, a senior at Lisbon High School, has been selected to receive the 2006 Principal’s Award.

The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.

Sullivan has distinguished herself in every way that would represent the ideals and standards of the Maine Principals’ Association, Healey said. Her consistency, leadership and pursuit of excellence have made her Lisbon High School’s award recipient, he stated.

Sullivan participates in Student Government, Students Against Destructive Decisions, the yearbook staff and National Technical Honor Society, and she is active in field hockey, basketball and track. She volunteers her time to Habitat for Humanity, the local food pantry, church suppers and works with handicapped adults.

Healey and Sullivan will attend an Honors Luncheon on Saturday, April 8, in Bangor.
