OTISFIELD – Ephraim Scott Jillson, 89, of Cobb Hill Road, died at his home on Monday, April 3.

He was born in Otisfield, July 24, 1916, the son of George C. and Esther (Scott) Jillson and attended local schools. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He worked for the Windham School Department as a bus driver and mechanic.

He was very active in Masons, including Presumpscot Lodge Past Master, Past Grand Jr. Deacon of the Grand Lodge of Maine, 32nd Degree Scottish Rites, a member of the Kora Temple Cycle Corps. and Past Patron Evangeline Chapter OES.

He was past commander of the Anderson-Staples American Legion Post in Oxford, past commandant of the Marine Corps League Western Maine Detachment, a member of the Eighth Defense Reunion Group, Sons of the American Revolution and a former Advisory Board member of the Windham Rainbow Assembly. He was a 25-year member of the North Windham Fire Department, past president of the Otisfield Historical Society and former board member of the Bell Hill Church Society.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Frost Jillson of Otisfield; a son, George C. Jillson of Port Orange, Fla. and Otisfield; a daughter, Patricia L. Jillson of Otisfield; a brother, Frank C. Jillson of East Montpelier, Vt.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was predeceased by a brother, Otis F. Jillson; and a sister, Nancy Jillson Royal.
