LEWISTON – The artwork of June Dragoon of Peru will be featured during April at Central Maine Medical Center. The exhibit is sponsored by the Woman’s Hospital Association.

Dragoon said, “Although I have studied with a number of well-known artists, I am basically self-taught. I am constantly learning and striving to improve my technique. Painting gives me a new way of looking at the world.”

She said, “I work in a variety of mediums, although the versatility of watercolor is magic to me. Surrounded by my family and countryside, I have endless subject matter.”

Dragoon has participated in many gallery and sidewalk shows, including Portland, South Portland, Bethel, Farmington, Norway, Winthrop, Poland Spring, Pennacook Art Gallery, Mermaid Art Gallery, St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, CMMC and Stephens Memorial Hospital. She has received awards in many shows.

Dragoon enjoys mountain climbing mountains, camping with her family and alpine skiing.

The Woman’s Hospital Association supports Central Maine Medical Center and its patients. Anyone who would like to join the association or take part in the monthly artist showings should call 795-2295.
