TURNER – Voters will choose from four candidates vying for two seats on the Board of Selectmen when they go to the polls Friday. Voting will take place from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Town Office.

Daniel R. DiMambro, 56, is running with the hope of “injecting some new blood, new ideas” into town government. He doesn’t see the need for great change, but hopes to use the position “to try to rebuild the volunteer fire department roster.”

DiMambro was with the fire department for 18 years until 1998 when he resigned, and was with Turner Rescue for 23 years, coming aboard as its first paid employee and serving until 2003. His hobby is antique cars and he is active in the Maine Auto Vehicle Registration Club, the Knucklebusters and the Yankee Cruisers Car Club.

Lawrence M. House, 71, is an incumbent selectman completing his first three-year term on the board. He is seeking re-election to serve on the board until the final decisions are made on building a new town office. He said he would still like to see it sited in North Turner, but “I realize that isn’t likely to happen.” House has previously served on the Budget Committee, and for about 12 years on the SAD 52 school board. He was the proprietor of House’s Market in North Turner for 43 years until his retirement.

Charlie B. Mock, 44, is running “to help direct growth in the town and preserve its unique character.” The candidate said he has always lived in large cities which gives him a special appreciation for the values of a small town. A resident for the past two years, Mock is a paramedic, a member of the volunteer rescue unit and a paid member of United Ambulance. He is a member of the town Budget Committee, the Turner Historical Association and the American Legion. Mock was a U.S. Army combat medic for six years. He and his wife have three young children.

Angelo M. Terreri, 49, has been a resident of Turner for about 20 years and is employed by Goodwin Well and Water of North Turner. He is seeking office as a “good way to serve the town and townspeople of Turner.” Terreri and his wife are the parents of two daughters, and have three grandchildren. He has been a member of the Turner Athletic Association for 17 years, serving as president of the youth service organization for the past 10 years.

In uncontested races:

• Elizabeth Bullard and Peter Ricker are running for three-year terms on the school board. Ricker is running as a write-in candidate.

• Incumbent Harris L. Bradeen is running for a one-year term on the school board.

• Ronald L. Harris, Robert A. Levesque and Rodney Shaw are running for three openings on the Budget Committee.
