LEWISTON – Lewiston Adult Education has announced that Rob Callahan, assistant director, is the recipient of an award for “Outstanding Leadership in Adult Education.”

The award was presented by Rebecca Dyer, director of Maine Adult Education, at the adult education directors’ meeting in Hallowell on March 14.

Callahan was recognized for his leadership in the development of a new work readiness training curriculum that will be implemented locally through the Lewiston Career Center.

The program, “The WorkReady Credential,” will be piloted in Lewiston, Bangor and Caribou this spring. It is designed to help participants develop the “soft skills” necessary to be successful on the job.

For more information about the pilot program, contact Mary LaFontaine at the Lewiston CareerCenter at 753-9001.
