Ecumenical service

FARMINGTON – The Farmington Area Ecumenical Ministry will offer a Good Friday service at noon Friday, April 14, at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church, 110 Academy St. The service will be a version of the 14 stations of the cross from the Iona Community liturgy. Iona is an ecumenical abbey and retreat center in Scotland. Dan Woodward, choir director, will offer two solos.

Participating clergy will include the Rev. Roger Chabot of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church; the Rev. Marcia Charles of Shorey Chapel (United Church of Christ); the Rev. Susan Crane of Henderson Memorial Baptist Church; the Rev. Terry Mckinley of Trinity United Methodist Church; the Rev. Scott Planting of Fairbanks Union Church; the Rev. Cathie Wallace of Old South Congregational Church (United Church of Christ); and the Rev. Tim Walmer of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Wilton.

In concert

NEW VINEYARD – The Kingdom Life Singers, under the direction of Kimberly Schanz, will appear in concert, “The Day He Wore My Crown,” at 7 p.m. on Friday and Sunday, April 14 and 16, at the Open Bible Baptist Church, 268 Barker Road.

There will be solo performances by several choir members before the concert. Performing will be Steve Hutchins, Elise Bell, Marlene Hutchins, Jill Bates and John and Amy Bell.

The night will open with the school choir, under the direction of Marlene Hutchins, performing. Three for Thee, Gina DiDonna, Elise Bell and Kimberly Schanz, will appear, and Amy Bell will play a special piano piece. For more information, call 778-9065.

Sunrise service

FARMINGTON – The Farmington Area Ecumenical Ministry will hold an Easter sunrise service at 5:50 a.m. Sunday, April 16, on Voter Hill.

Special services

JAY – Bean’s Corner Baptist Church will celebrate the Easter season with special services on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. A service of scripture, music, monologues, play and communion will highlight a Good Friday service at 7 p.m. April 14.

On Easter Day, events will begin with a “SonRose” service at 8 a.m., followed by a fellowship breakfastand Sunday school at 9:15.

The 10:30 a.m. service will include selections by the Savior’s Brass ensemble, a musical, “Glorious Cross,” by the church choir, and an Easter devotional. There will be no evening service.

The church is located at the intersection of Routes 156 and 133.
