Society speaker

DIXFIELD – The Dixfield Historical Society will hold its first spring meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 13, in the Charter Meeting Room of the Dixfield Historical Society.

A collection of old glass plates that have been developed into pictures by Gordon Reynolds will be on display for guests to help identify.

Those attending are also asked to bring a “what-cha-ma-call-it” item or an antique to the meeting for the audience to guess. The public welcome.

Class luncheon

RUMFORD – The Stephens High School Class of 1955 will have a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 13, at the River Valley Grill. All classmates are welcome. For more information, call Geneva at 364-4216.

Alzheimer’s group

RUMFORD – The Alzheimer Support Group will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at the Oxford County Adult Activity Center.

Woods workshop

BETHEL – A workshop will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at Telstar Regional High School to learn about the possible non-timber products available from a woodlot and how to market them.

The workshop will include two concurrent sessions with four speakers and local tours that will help introduce alternative products from a woodlot and marketing strategies.

The registration fee of $10 is due by Friday, April 21; seating is limited, and reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.
