Hat contest

AUBURN – The First Auburn Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, at Hasty Memorial Center. Women are reminded of the delayed Easter hat contest. A prize will be given to the winner of the contest.

Tickets will be on sale for the May 3 anniversary dinner at Martindale. Cost is $6. Members are reminded to bring cups and utensils for the lasagna dinner. Bingo will be played after dinner.

The mystery day trip to Luciano’s on Lake Pearl in Wrentham, Mass., will be Monday, May 15. Price is $71 a person, to be paid Wednesday, April 19. Another day trip will be held July 11 at the Venizia Restaurant in Boston. Price of $66 a person includes lunch, show and transportation. The club met on April 5 with President Caroline Chapman presiding. There were 80 present. Attendance winners were Guy Donahue and Nelson Edwards; pot of gold, Lorraine Marcous, Kay Deburra and Jim Lutz. After lunch there was a food auction with Roy Tassinari as auctioneer.

Card party

LEWISTON – The Rosary Sodality of St. Patrick’s Church will hold its annual card party at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, in the parish hall. Committee members include Pauline O’Connell, decorations; Louise Allen, chances; Anne Clabby, door prizes; Marie Fabrizio and Nancy Fox, refreshments; Joyce Ouellette, tickets; and Carolyn Burke, gift coordinator. Medical course

LEWISTON – The Central Maine Medical Center School of Nursing will offer a 10-week medical terminology course beginning Tuesday, May 2.

The classes will meet at the CMMC School of Nursing at 70 Middle St. from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There will be no class meeting on July 4.

The noncredit course will be taught by Peggy Young, RN. A fee, which includes the cost of the textbook, will be charged.

Annual meeting

LISBON FALLS – The West Bowdoin Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting at Bickford’s, 394 Main St., at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 7. All interested persons are invited to attend.

Bridge play

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on April 10 were: first, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer; second, Anna Vitiello and Roger Briggs; third, Les Buzzell and Paul Sherman; fourth, Betty and Doug Sise; fifth/sixth tie, Cynthia Bonsey and Charlie Bartlett with Dick Allen and Pete Cummings.

Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays, a mini-lesson is given, and a partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie Goodwin at 783-1734 for more information.

The game on Monday, April 17, will be played at Schooner Estates, 200 Stetson Rd., Auburn.
