LEWISTON – The congregation of the Calvary United Methodist Church, 59 Sabattus St., is celebrating. After a winter spent in fellowship and worship in the kitchen dining room area of the church basement, the congregation will return to the sanctuary on Easter Sunday, April 16.

The move was made in an effort to save on fuel expenses. Parishioners gathered among the aromas of the early community breakfast and coffee that is served free each Sunday to anyone wishing to attend.

The tables and pews were then rearranged to form a worship area for Sunday school and church.

An Easter cantata will be performed by the Calvary Crooners, directed by Cathy Singleton, on Sunday.

Breakfast is served at 8 a.m. free every Sunday. Sunday school children and adult classes are held at 9 a.m. followed by worship at 10.
