SPRING HILL, Fla. – Irene (LaPointe) Ouellette Padgett, ended her courageous battle with cancer on April 9, in Spring Hill, Florida.

She was born in Lewiston, on Sept. 26, 1925, the daughter of Arthur and Delima LaPointe. She was educated in Lewiston/Auburn schools. She married Robert Ouellette on Oct. 11, 1943, and they raised three children.

She was an active member of St Louis Catholic Church in Auburn. In 1963, the family moved to Brunswick, where she was active at the St. John Catholic Church and the Brunswick Golf Club. In 1980, they moved to Barefoot Bay, Fla., where her husband Robert passed away.

In October 1983, she married Herbert Padgett of Star Lake, N.Y., who passed away in 2003. She was a fun-loving woman. She was a very talented homemaker, excelled at sewing, knitting, upholstery and many sports. She was an avid camper, square and round dancer. She lived fully and happily.

She is survived by a daughter, Joan Deemer and husband, Laddie; her sons, Ron Ouellette, Jack Ouellette and wife Amy; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren; her sister, Carmen Pontbriand and husband Bert and five nieces.

She was predeceased by her brother, Arthur LaPointe in December 2001.
