NORWAY – Kathleen R. Austin, 55, of Patch Mountain Road, Norway passed unexpectedly Tuesday, April 11, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Lewiston on Dec. 4, 1950, the daughter of Charles and Joyce Stevens Carman of South Paris. She was a graduate of Oxford Hills High School, Class of 1969.
She has shared her life with Rick Austin since 1985. Her love of nature was apparent in the hiking, kayaking and bird watching she most loved doing. She was an avid reader and loved to spend time with her grandchildren, Ashley and Connor. Many summers were spent camping in Bar Harbor, Baxter State Park and kayaking all over Maine with her husband, Rick. She cherished her recent trips with her family to Disneyworld and Lake Powell, Utah.
She is survived by her loving family. Her mother, Joyce; husband, Rick; two sons, Dylan and Mike and his wife, Becky and their two children, Ashley and Connor; her three sisters, Gail, Becky and Laurie; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Terry; and her father, Charles “Harvey” Carman.
