LEWISTON – Life Line Screening will be at the First United Pentecostal Church, 715 College Road, on Tuesday, May 9, to do preventive screenings. Appointments will begin at 10 a.m.
Strokes are ranked as the third leading killer in the world, and the second among women.
Screenings are fast and painless. They involve the use of ultrasound technology and scan for potential health problems related to blocked arteries, which can lead to a stroke; aortic aneurysms, which can lead to a ruptured aorta; and hardening of the arteries in the legs, which are a predictor of heart disease. A bone density screening is also offered.
Each screening requires 10 minutes to complete. A vascular screening package is $109. Sign-up for the package and osteoporosis screening is $129.
For more information regarding the screenings or to schedule an appointment, call 1-877-237-1287. Preregistration is required.
