WINTHROP – The Monmouth Lions Cub Speakout 2006 was held March 14 at Sully’s Restaurant.
The judges were Lions Archie Wing and the Rev. Russell Chase and questioners were Lions Fred Ackely and Joe Stumpf.
At the end of each speech, the contestants were asked two questions. All speeches were evaluated in three categories: delivery, material and response to questions.
The Monmouth Academy students placed as follows: first, Scott Turcotte, “America’s TV Zombie Invasion,” $45; second, Chris Eldridge, “Born to Run,” $35; and third, Danielle West, “Life with Diabetes,” $25.
Monmouth Academy coaches were Scott and Cathy Foyt. They were commended for their work.
