Hartwick College sophomore Matthew Bennett of Auburn, son of Larraine and Jeffrey Bennett, has been inducted into Phi Alpha Theta, the national history honor society.
The Nu Theta Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta was established at Hartwick College of Oneonta, N.Y., in 1968. Inductees must complete four or more history courses, achieve a grade point average of 3.2 or above in the history courses they have taken and earn an overall grade point average of 3.0 or above. Membership is not limited to history majors.
Bennett is majoring in accounting and political science. He has participated in men’s varsity football, men’s varsity baseball and honors program. Bennett is a graduate of Edward Little High School.
