LEWISTON – The wedding of Monique Jacqueline Fortin and Kevin Robert Landry was held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 8 at the Franco-American Heritage Center. Marguerite Stapleton officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Landry is the daughter of Claire C. Fortin of Lewiston and the late Paul E. Fortin. Mr. Landry is the son of Robert and Darquise Landry of Lewiston.

The bride, given in marriage by her mother and her brother, Joseph Fortin, wore a white organza gown over satin with crystal beading and sequins and a chapel train.

Claire Fortin was matron of honor for her daughter, and bridesmaids were Cherie Fortin, cousin, and Mary Blackerby, best friend. Margaret and Elizabeth Keefe, cousins, were flower girls.

Chris Mendros performed the duties of best man for his best friend, and ushers were Mark and Jeff Landry, brothers, and Christian and Aaron Landry, nephews. Charles Keefe, cousin, was ring bearer.

A reception followed at the heritage center, after which the couple traveled to Cancun in Mexico.

The bride received a bachelor’s degree in international affairs from the University of Maine at Orono and is employed as an education technician at Sherwood Heights Elementary School in Auburn.

The bridegroom received an associate degree in 1999 in electrical-mechanical technology from Central Maine Technical College. He is employed as quality control inspector at FHC in Bowdoin.
