FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Children’s Task Force has announced that it is the recipient of a $6,500 grant from the Maine Community Foundation.
The grant will support the continuation of the parent education programs in the Franklin County area. The programs build on families’ strengths and provide the tools and support they need to become stronger and more self-sufficient.
The programs provide parents the opportunity to learn family communication, empathy and respect, find techniques for dealing with challenging behavior, participate in activities and discussion and learn to have time to enjoy each other.
A statewide organization with offices in Ellsworth and Portland, the Maine Community Foundation works in partnership with donors and community groups to strengthen Maine. For more information, visit the foundation’s Web site at www.mainecf.org or call toll-free 1-877-700-6800.
