NEW YORK (AP) – An unspecified power problem knocked the CBS television network off the air for about 30 minutes Saturday morning before programming was restored, the network said.
“Due to reasons we are now looking into, the source of power that supplies the network went down,” said a statement released by CBS. “That power has now been restored.”
According to the network, the power went out at about 9:20 a.m. EDT. In some markets, “The Saturday Early Show” with Russ Mitchell and Tracy Smith disappeared from the air. In markets where the switch was already made to local programming, the outage would have gone unnoticed, the network said.
It took about a half-hour to get the network up and running again.
