Fellowship

AUBURN – The Young at Heart Fellowship will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, at the Court Street Baptist Church.

There will be a business meeting with President Winston Greaton presiding. Devotions will be led by Therese Demers, Central Maine Medical Center chaplain. The program will be given by the Edward Little High School Chamber Singers, Beth Labrie directing. Members should bring a bag lunch and placesetting, also an item for the door prize.

Legion to elect

LISBON – American Legion Post 158 and Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at the post home, Webster Street. Election of new officers will be held for the post and unit.

Meeting notice

LEWISTON – The National Active Retired Federal Employees Association will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, at the Ramada Inn.

Plans were made at the home of Vi Dumais. Attending were Sue Stetson, Mike and Flo Bohunicky, Doris Hamel and Joanne Morse.

Dow Seniors

AUBURN – Robin Dow Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, at the Alden M. Gayton Post 31, American Legion, 426 Washington St. There will be the usual raffle table and donated articles will be accepted.

Sixty-five members were present when the group met April 14 under the direction of the president, Merry Strout. April birthdays were acknowledged. Attendance prize winners were Evelyn Sawin and Ralph Lashua; pot of gold, Virginia Trafford, Philip Cyr and Felix Yurkston.

An Easter dinner was prepared and served under the direction of Lucien Marcoux. The hall was decorated by Irving Grant and Doris Michael, carrying out the Easter theme. Edwina Bonney won for her rendition of the ideal Easter hat. Following the Easter dinner, members played bingo.

Scrapbooking

AUBURN – A Scrap-O-Rama, a celebration of scrapbooking, will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at the First Universalist Church of Auburn. Recently rescheduled, the event will include a free lunch, goodie bags filled with supplies, and raffles and door prizes valued at more than $750.

The scrapmobile will be in the parking lot. Inside, Creative Memories will have samples and demonstrations. Registration costs $30 before May 26; $35 after. To register, call 783-0461 or visit www.uuauburn.org for more information.

Bridge results

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on April 18 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Winners in Flight A were: first, Patricia Smith and Shirley West; second, Doug and Betty Sise; third, Nancy Farmer and Lucille Theriault; fourth, Leslie Buzzell and Nancy Lindgren.

Flight B winners were: first, Doug and Betty Sise; second, Alberta Turner and Lucille Bilodeau. Another game will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, at the center.

The club also met on April 19 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Winners in Flight A were: David Lock and Martine Begert; second, Jeanine Kivus and Rosemarie Goodwin; third, Roger Briggs and Clair Lyons; fourth, Lucile Bilodeau and Alberta Turner.

Flight B winners were: first, Roger Briggs and Clair Lyons; second, Lucille Bilodeau and Alberta Turner. Another game will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at Schooner Estates. A partner is guaranteed at both games. For more information, call Lucille Theriault at 783-0431.
