Lyme disease

AUBURN – Patients, family of patients and the public are welcome to participate in a support and information group on Lyme disease, which will meet on the last Wednesday of the month beginning April 26. The group will meet in the Auburn Police Department conference room from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Symptoms of the disease, both in early and late stages, will be the focus of the first meeting. For further information, e-mail group moderator Sharon Hawkes at shawkes57@msn.com.

Hawkes and her son, Jonathan, of Auburn, are participating in a country-wide walk for Lyme disease during April. Anyone interested in pledging for the walkathon can contact Hawkes at shawkes57@msn.com or attend the meeting on Wednesday.

Internet safety

LISBON – An Internet safety class will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, in the Lisbon High School library. The class is open to Lisbon parents who want to learn more about the Internet, including MySpace.com.

There will be time for questions. The presentation will feature a “live” Internet connection to help participants understand how it works.

Grange supper

AUBURN – Members of Danville Junction Grange will meet at the hall on Thursday, April 27, for a 6 p.m. supper. The meeting and program, which will begin at 7 p.m., will be under the direction of the Committee on Women’s Activities consisting of Joyce Poole, Doris Michael and Joyce Bickford. Visitors from other granges will occupy the stations. The program will feature the Court Street Baptist Church chimers. All members and guests are welcome.

PTO Night Out

LISBON – Lisbon Community School PTO’s Night Out with the Portland Sea Dogs will happen on Friday, April 28, at 6 p.m. at Hadlock Field. Tickets are $3 each and can be purchased by contacting Amy Austin at 353-3154. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Pomona Sunday

AUBURN – Members of Androscoggin Pomona Grange will observe Go-to-Church Sunday on Sunday, April 30, by attending the Wales Presbyterian Church. People should plan to be there by 8:45 a.m. in preparation for entering the church as a body.

At 11:30 members will dine at the Chickadee Restaurant in Turner. That evening Androscoggin Pomona will hold a rehearsal for the fifth degree at West Minot Grange at 6 p.m.

On Wednesday, May 3, members of Androscoggin Pomona Grange will meet for a 6:30 p.m. supper at West Minot Grange. The business meeting will start at 7:30. Present will be State Gatekeeper Arthur Dority who will inspect. The fifth degree will be performed on several candidates. Any Pomona Grange that has candidates for the degree are welcome to bring them. A silver march and attendance drawing will be held. All Pomona members are welcome.
