SOUTH HIRAM – Brady Blackman hit a double and triple for five RBIs in the fourth inning to power St. Dom’s to a 16-4 win over Sacopee in WMC baseball action Saturday.
The Saints (1-1) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, but Sacopee Valley tied up the game in the bottom of the second with a lead-off walk, double and a single to plate the baserunners.
The Saints opened up the fourth inning with a bit of fireworks on five consecutive hits. Peter Lewis and Tommy Gosselin contributed extra base hits in the winning effort with a triple apiece.
Lacrosse
Hebron 13, Worcester 3
HEBRON – Greg Harrington scored a game-high four goals and added three assists to carry Hebron to a 13-3 win against Worcester in a boys’ lacrosse matchup Saturday.
Cameron Gosney chipped in with three goals and two assists, while Roman Gosney had two goals and an assist for Hebron (8-2).
Luke Ryder netted two goals for Worcester (1-5).
Lincoln 11, Mt. Blue 4
FARMINGTON – Sam Elmes found the back of the net five times and added an assist to lead Lincoln to an 11-4 victory over Mt. Blue in varsity boys’ lacrosse action. Derek Joannides netted three goals, while Tom Nolet scored two goals and had an assist for Lincoln (4-1).
Anthony Barker and Collin Gillespie scored two goals apiece for the Cougars (0-5). Mt. Blue jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first three minutes of the game, but couldn’t hold on.
Softball
Hebron 11, Gould 3
HEBRON – Tiffany Bichrest went 4-for-4, including a home run, a double and four RBIs to power Hebron to an 11-3 triumph over Gould in a varsity softball contest Saturday.
Daniella Lyons went 2-for-4 with a home run, four runs scored and two RBIs for Hebron (5-2). Hebron starting pitcher Sarah Irish went the distance, allowing three runs and striking out six to pick up the win.
