I started crocheting almost a year ago and have been looking for either classes or groups in the area where I can share my new hobby. I seem to find a lot of things about knitting classes and/or groups but not much about crochet. Are there any crochet groups or classes that meet regularly? • Quiltessentials, 909 Minot Ave., Auburn, 784-4486, offers classes at $10 per class. Preregistration is required, and classes are held Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Tuesday evenings from 6 to 9. Classes are also offered by appointment.

• The Irish Ewe, 333 Main St., Norway, 743-6263, offers a Crochet Flip Flops class on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., as well as a Pick Your Own Class, a custom Make Your Own Class, which is $30 for two hours of private instruction and you pick the topic. Please notify them at least three days in advance with your preferred time and topic. Visit their Web site at www.theirishewe.com for their monthly class schedules and prices.

Sun Spots would also encourage you to contact your local adult education department, which is likely to offer classes. While many are finishing up for the spring semester, you might like to check back with them for classes in the summer and fall.

Dear Sun Spots: As usual, turning to Sun Spots for help is usually the perfect route and place to start with an inquiry. I have two old Kodak Trimprint 920 instant cameras plus one Kodak Instamatic M24 movie camera that takes Super 8 movies and a Super 8 projector as well. Answer: The value depends on what it may be worth to a collector or someone who prefers to use older equipment. A quick online eBay search didn’t locate much in terms of value. The Trimprint 920 ranged from $2.50 up to $75; the M24 Movie Camera Super 8 came up as $14.99; and the projector ranged from $9.99 to $49.99. The auction values are related to the condition of the equipment, and many are the starting bids.
